A number that identifies the original document, such as a voucher, invoice, or journal entry. On entry forms, you can assign the document 
number or let the system assign it using the Next Numbers program (P0002). Matching document numbers (DOCM) identify related documents 
in the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable systems. Examples of original and matching documents are: Accounts Payable     o 
Original document - voucher     o Matching document - payment  Accounts Receivable     o Original document - invoice     o Matching document - 
receipt  Note: In the Accounts Receivable system, the following transactions simultaneously generate original and matching documents: 
deductions, unapplied receipts, chargebacks, and drafts.

A user defined code (00/DT) that identifies the origin and purpose of the transaction.  PeopleSoft reserves several prefixes for document 
types, such as, vouchers, invoices, receipts, and timesheets. The reserved document type prefixes for codes are: P Accounts payable 
documents R Accounts receivable documents  T Time and Pay documents I Inventory documents  O Purchase order documents  S Sales order 
documents 

A number that, with the document number, document type and G/L date, uniquely identifies an original document, such as invoice, voucher, 
or journal entry. If you use the Next Numbers by Company/Fiscal Year feature, the Automatic Next Numbers program (X0010) uses the 
document company to retrieve the correct next number for that company. If two or more original documents have the same document number and 
document type, you can use the document company to locate the desired document.

A number that designates a line within a journal entry. The system uses this field to sequence the journal entry lines for inquiry purposes.

A number that identifies an original document. This document can be a voucher, a sales order, an invoice, unapplied cash, a journal entry, 
and so on.

A user defined code (00/DT) that identifies the type of document. This code also indicates the origin of the transaction. J.D. Edwards has 
reserved document type codes for vouchers, invoices, receipts, and time sheets, which create automatic offset entries during the post 
program. (These entries are not self-balancing when you originally enter them.) The following document types are defined by J.D. Edwards and 
should not be changed: P Accounts Payable documents   R Accounts Receivable documents   T Payroll documents   I Inventory documents  
O Purchase Order Processing documents   J General Accounting/Joint Interest Billing documents   S Sales Order Processing documents

A number that, along with order number and order type, uniquely identifies an order document (such as a purchase order, a contract, a 
sales order, and so on). If you use the Next Numbers by Company/Fiscal Year facility, the Automatic Next Numbers program (X0010) uses the 
order company to retrieve the correct next number for that company. If two or more order documents have the same order number and order 
type, the order company lets you locate the desired document. If you use the regular Next Numbers facility, the order company is not used to 
assign a next number. In this case, you probably would not use the order company to locate the document.

A number that identifies multiple occurrences, such as line numbers on a purchase order or other document. Generally, the system assigns 
this number,but in some cases you can override it.

A number representing the number of lines on either a purchase or sales order. or The number of receivers recorded during the receipts 
process.  This field will be used in Voucher Matching.

A date that identifies the financial period to which the transaction is to be posted.  The company constants specify the date range for each 
financial period. You can have as many as 14 periods. Generally, period 14 is used for audit adjustments. The system validates this field for 
PBCO (posted before cutoff), PYEB (prior year ending balance), PACO (post after cutoff), and WACO (post way after cutoff) messages.

The date that an order was entered into the system. This date determines which effective level the system uses for inventory pricing.

A number that identifies a group of transactions that the system processes and balances as a unit. When you enter a batch, you can either 
assign a batch number or let the system assign it using the Next Numbers program.

This field is used internally in the Bulk Product Transaction file (F41511). The valid record types are:    F  FROM record in General Stock 
Movements    T  TO record in General Stock Movements    B  BEFORE record in Dip Volume Calculations    A  AFTER record in Dip Volume 
Calculations    M  METER reading record in Discharge Meter Reading (Simultaneous Withdrawals only)    D  DIP record from Multi-Tank Dip 
Readings    S  SALES record - either from load or delivery confirm    P  PURCHASE record from P.O. Receipts    W  WEIGHBRIDGE record from 
Weighbridge Information screen 

An alphanumeric code that identifies a separate entity within a business for which you want to track costs. For example, a business unit 
might be a warehouse location, job, project, work center, branch, or plant. You can assign a business unit to a document, entity, or person for 
purposes of responsibility reporting. For example, the system provides reports of open accounts payable and accounts receivable by 
business unit to track equipment by responsible department. Business unit security might prevent you from viewing information about business units 
for which you have no authority.

An 8-character field identifying the tank as defined on the Branch/Plant Constants form.

An inventory item number. The system provides three separate item numbers plus an extensive cross-reference capability to other item 
numbers (see data item XRT) to accommodate substitute item numbers, replacements, bar codes, customer numbers, supplier numbers, and 
so forth. The item numbers are as follows:   o Item Number (short) - An eight-digit, computer-assigned item number     o 2nd Item Number - The 
25-digit, free-form, user defined alphanumeric item number     o 3rd Item Number - Another 25-digit, free-form, user defined alphanumeric item 
number

The transaction line number keeps the different From and To lines for one transaction (for example, combining multiple lots into one or 
splitting one lot into several new ones) together by giving them the same transaction line number.

The temperature of the product.

A code used to identify the type of temperature. Valid values are:    F Fahrenheit    C Celsius 

Identifies your company's standard for density. You can also use this field for pack size and weight information.

A code used to identify the type of density. Valid values are:    A Absolute Density    G API Specific Gravity    R Relative Density

Indicates the temperature at which the density was measured. The system uses the density temperature type from Branch/Plant Constants - 
Page 3 Row exit.

Identifies the type of temperature. Valid values are:    F Fahrenheit    C Celsius

The volume as measured for density and temperature prior to conversion. You can enter the ambient quantity or let the system 
automatically calculate it.

A user defined code (system 00, type UM) that identifies the unit of measurement for pressure, volume, weight, diameter, or height. Note that 
for all volume or weight units of measure, a V or W (respectively) must be entered in the first position of the special handling field on the UDC 
table.

The ambient quantity (prior to conversion to standard volume) which has been converted to the inventory unit of measure for that item.

A user defined code (system 00, type UM) that identifies the unit of measurement for pressure, volume, weight, diameter, or height.

A calculated number to convert ambient volume to volume at standard density and temperature. This value identifies the primary stock 
accounting unit of measure used by the system.

The volume after it has been converted to a standard base. Conversions are made according to published standard routines for density 
and gravity and for temperature.

A user defined code (system 00, type UM) that identifies the unit of measurement for pressure, volume, weight, diameter, or height. Note that 
for all volume or weight units of measure, a V or W (respectively) must be entered in the first position of the special handling field on the UDC

The weight of the product at standard temperature. The system calculates the weight by multiplying the volume by the density and applying 
an air correction, if necessary (all at the base temperature).

A user defined code (system 00, type UM) that identifies the unit of measurement for pressure, volume, weight, diameter, or height. Note that 
for all volume or weight units of measure, a V or W (respectively) must be entered in the first position of the special handling field on the UDC 
table.

The quantity as converted to the primary stock accounting unit of measure identified for this item (product). This primary stock accounting 
unit can be either volume or weight.

A user defined code (system 00, type UM) that identifies the unit of measurement for pressure, volume, weight, diameter, or height. Note that 
for all volume or weight units of measure, a V or W (respectively)  must be entered in the first position of the special handling field on the UDC

A user defined code (42/RC) that explains the purpose for a transaction. For example, you can indicate the reason that you are returning 
items.

Controls whether to update the General Ledger (G/L) for commingled product. Typically, you update the G/L for the product that belongs to 
your company's inventory, not the product that belongs to another owner. Valid values are:        Y  A journal entry is written. You may also use 1.    
    N  A journal entry is not written. You may also use 0.

A number that identifies a lot or a serial number. A lot is a group of items with similar characteristics.

A user defined code (41/L) that indicates the status of the lot. If you leave this field blank, it indicates that the lot is approved. All other codes 
indicate that the lot is on hold. You can assign a different status code to each location in which a lot resides on Item/Location Information or 
Location Lot Status Change.

The date on which a lot of items expires. The system automatically enters this date if you have specified the shelf life days for the item on 
Item Master Information or Item Branch/Plant Information. The system calculates the expiration date by adding the number of shelf life days to 
the date that you receive the item. You can commit inventory based on the lot expiration date for items. You choose how the system commits 
inventory for an item on Item Master Information or Item Branch/Plant Information.

The amount per unit, derived by dividing the total cost by the unit quantity.

For accounts receivable and accounts payable, the invoice (gross) amount. For sales orders and purchase orders, the unit cost times the 
number of units.

Text that identifies the reason that a transaction occurred.

A number that identifies an entry in the Address Book system, such as employee, applicant, participant, customer, supplier, tenant, or 
location.

A unique number your company assigns to identify a particular agreement. You might want to assign some significance to the agreement 
number (for example,an agreement type code, location, year, and so forth). An agreement might have multiple supplements to record 
addendum or changes, for example.

The supplement number records any changes or addendum to agreements that occur over time or by item. It can also indicate individual 
agreements that are tied to a master agreement. The system allows up to 999 different supplements per base agreement number.

Indicates if an air correction must be applied in the volume-to-weight conversion. The weight in air of a liquid differs from its mass (weight in 
a vacuum) because of the effects of air buoyancy. Thus, the calculation changes slightly if an air correction is required. Valid values are:     Y 
Yes. You may also use 1.     N No. You may also use 0. If you leave this field blank, the system uses N.

Indicates whether this product must include the appropriate stem correction for the thermal expansion of the glass hydrometer. Valid values 
are:    Y  Yes. You may also use 1.    N  No. You may also use 0. If you leave this field blank, the system uses N.

A user defined code (system 39/type DP) that identifies the method of measurement that the system uses to calculate the volume from tank 
dips. Valid values are:    W Wet Dip Reading    U Ullage Dip Reading    R Roto Gauge Percent Reading    S Slip Tube Reading    E Electronic 
Gauge Reading  If the Dip is E, for Electronic Gauge Reading, you must choose the user defined code for Gauging Method as ambient 
volume, standard volume or weight electronic.

This number represents the total dip reading of a tank. (Net volume = Gross dip volume - Water dip volume + Other volumes.)

This number represents the total dip reading of water in the tank.        (Net volume = gross dip volume - water dip volume + other 
volumes.) This can be a single dip or a multiple dip reading.

This is the observed LPG vapour pressure. The system compares this value to the equilibrium vapour pressure to check for inert gases. 
The observed pressure of the LPG vapour is recorded as part of the tank dip, and is used in the calculation of the liquid equivalent volume of 
the vapour.

A code BG (Barg - Bar Gauge) is used to identify the unit of measurement for pressure.

At the item level, this is the standard vapour temperature. The observed temperature of the vapour in the LPG tank is recorded as part of 
the tank dip and is used to calculate the liquid equivalent volume of the vapour. If you calculate LPG vapour, enter the standard LPG vapour. 
The observed vapour from the Dip Volume Calculator and Multimeter Reading is compared to this value.

A code used to identify the type of temperature.    F Fahrenheit    C Celsius 

This field is used when recording a dip reading for an LPG Slip Tube type tank. This field denotes whether this is a long or short slip tube 
reading. Valid values are:    L Long    S Short If you leave this field blank, the system uses S.

The weight of the vapour within a tank or containers.

This number represents any volumes that will affect the net volume calculation. The default value equals the pipeline volume plus the 
discharge volume. The pipeline and discharge volumes are from Additional Tank Information data. (Net volume = gross dip volume - water dip 
volume + other volumes.)

The time when the readings were performed. Enter the time in either HHMMSS or HH:MM:SS format. If you leave this field blank, the system 
enters the current time used.

You can enter a date with or without slashes (/) or dashes (-) as separators. If you leave a date entry field blank, the system supplies the 
current date.

Identifies the meter.

The beginning (opening) meter reading before the product flows through a pipeline. In order to calculate the ambient volume, an after 
(closing) meter reading is required.

The closing reading of the meter at the date and time specified by the user. This indicates the quantity of product that has flowed through the 
meter when the closing readings are taken. In order to calculate the ambient volume, an after (closing) meter reading is required.

A unique identification number for a vehicle. This number serves as a primary identifier for a vehicle.

Indicates the depot from which a trip originates. The Trip Depot and the Trip Number fields identify the unique combination of vehicle, 
registration number, load date, and shift.

The number assigned to a trip during direct assignment or trip building. The Trip Depot and the Trip Number fields identify the unique 
combination of vehicle, registration number, load date, and shift.

The unique identifier associated with one of the storage compartments of this vehicle. Some vehicles (especially those designed to carry 
only packaged goods) have only a single compartment. For a single compartment vehicle, the compartment capacity represents the total 
storage capacity of the vehicle itself.

The weight of a vehicle before loading any products.

A user defined code (system 00, type UM) that identifies the unit of measurement for pressure, volume, weight, diameter, or height.

The weight of a vehicle after loading products.

A user defined code (system 00, type UM) that identifies the unit of measurement for pressure, volume, weight, diameter, or height.

The date a transaction is throughput reconciled. This is updated in the Update Throughput Operations process.

The date the transaction was operationally reconciled. The Update Operational Reconciliations process updates this field.

Identifies the current status in the reconciliation process. Entries in this field are User Defined Codes (UDCs). Important note:  Set up your 
Reconciliation Status - Current UDCs sequentially in the same order as the process flow. The same codes are used for Reconciliation Status - 
Next.

Identifies whether the reading has been reconciled. Valid values are:    Y The record has been fully reconciled.    N The record has not been 
reconciled.    I In process, the record has been throughput reconciled.    P In process, the tank has an error condition or the reconciliation 
ended abnormally.

The number of the gain/loss record written to the Gain/Loss file as part of the General Stock Movement transaction.

This is a 2 position code that is reserved for the user.  JDE does not currently use this field and will not utilize this field in the future.

The code that identifies a user profile.

The number that identifies the batch or interactive program (batch or interactive object). For example, the number of the Sales Order Entry 
interactive program is P4210, and the number of the Print Invoices batch process report is R42565. The program ID is a variable length value. 
It is assigned according to a structured syntax in the form TSSXXX, where: T The first character of the number is alphabetic and identifies the 
type, such as P for Program, R for Report, and so on. For example, the value P in the number P4210 indicates that the object is a 
program. SS The second and third characters of the number are numeric and identify the system code. For example, the value 42 in the number P4210 
indicates that this program belongs to system 42, which is the Sales Order Processing system. XXX The remaining characters of the numer are 
numeric and identify a unique program or report. For example, the value 10 in the number P4210 indicates that this is the Sales Order Entry 
program.

The code that identifies the work station ID that executed a particular job.

The date that specifies the last update to the file record.

The computer clock in hours:minutes:seconds.

This field is a unique number used to identify a record in a file.
