A user defined name or remark.

An option that specifies the type of processing for an event.

A code that identifies and defines a unit of information. It is an alphanumeric code up to 8 characters long that does not allow blanks or 
special characters such as %, &, or +. You create new data items using system codes 55-59. You cannot change the alias.

Sequence or sort number used for ordering records.

User Defined Code - Class Code 1

The length of the user defined code. It cannot be greater than 10 characters.

Valid values are:    Y Enables the Select User Defined Code form to display a second line of description.    M For maintenance only for 
second line display.  This capability is seldom used, but has applicability in areas such as inventory product codes.  The M value will not display 
the second line of description in the Select User Defined Code form.    N Allows the Select User Defined Code form to display only one line 
of description.

Determines whether a user defined code is numeric or alphanumeric. Valid values are:    Y Indicates that the code is numeric and should be 
right-justified.    N Indicates that the code is alphanumeric and should be left-justified.

This field determines where the merge programs obtain instructions for performing the merge.  A 1 indicates that the Merge Instruction Code 
in the  "FROM" file (F0004 file created by the install) will be used.  A 2 indicates that the Merge Instruction Code in the "TO" file (F0004 file in 
the current production library) will be used. NOTE: If the Merge Control Code in the F0004 file created by the install contains a 1 value, then the 
Merge Instruction Code in this file will be used regardless of the Merge Control Code value in the production file F0004.

The Merge Instruction Code directs the Merge User Defined Codes program in the following optional ways:     o Add Record Type 
information     o Update Record Type information     o Replace Record Type information     o Add User Defined Code information     o Update User 
Defined Code information     o Replace User Defined Code information
