sales order, and so on). If you use the Next Numbers by Company/Fiscal Year facility, the Automatic Next Numbers program (X0010) uses the 
order company to retrieve the correct next number for that company. If two or more order documents have the same order number and order 
type, the order company lets you locate the desired document. If you use the regular Next Numbers facility, the order company is not used to 
assign a next number. In this case, you probably would not use the order company to locate the document.

A number that identifies multiple occurrences, such as line numbers on a purchase order or other document. Generally, the system assigns 
this number,but in some cases you can override it.

A number representing the number of lines on either a purchase or sales order. or The number of receivers recorded during the receipts 
process.  This field will be used in Voucher Matching.

In the A/R and A/P systems, a code that corresponds to the pay item. In the Sales Order and Procurement systems, this code identifies

order, the first receiver used to record receipt has a suffix of 000, the next has a suffix of 001, the next 002, and so on.

for which you have no authority.

An inventory item number. The system provides three separate item numbers plus an extensive cross-reference capability to other item 
numbers (see data item XRT) to accommodate substitute item numbers, replacements, bar codes, customer numbers, supplier numbers, and 
so forth. The item numbers are as follows:   o Item Number (short) - An eight-digit, computer-assigned item number     o 2nd Item Number - The

A number that identifies an entry in the Address Book system, such as employee, applicant, participant, customer, supplier, tenant, or 
location.

The address number of the location to which you want to ship this order. The address book provides default values for customer address, 
including street, city, state, zip code, and country.

A code (system 46/type DT) that identifies a group of order types that you want to process as one for putaway, picking, and replenishment 
transactions.  You set up order group codes on User Defined Codes, then add order types to the code on Order Groups (P46092). You specify 
an order group on Picking Instructions (P46095) to limit the order types that trigger replenishment after picking.

This flag when turned on will disable the following validations:     o When running putaway selection: The "from" location will not be validated.  
   o When running pick selection: The "to" location will not be validated for space, hold, number of items...

A code that indicates whether you want the system to attempt to complete an incomplete unit of measure (such as a half-filled pallet) in an 
existing location during putaway. Valid codes are:    Y Yes, search for locations with incomplete units of measure to top them off    N No, do not 
search for locations with incomplete units of measure 

If an individual item of inventory is sold as a component of a kit or assembly (single level bill-of-materials), the item number of that kit is the 
'related'item number.

This line number indicates the relative sequence in which a component is added to a kit or single level bill of materials. For example, the 
system automatically assigns a whole number to the kit master line, for example, 1.0000. Each component line is assigned a consecutive 
subset of that line number, for example, the first component has line 1.010, and the second component has 1.020.

A number that indicates the sequence of the components on a bill of material. It initially indicates the relative sequence in which a 
component was added to a kit or single level bill of material. You can modify this number to change the sequence in which the components appear on 
the bill of material. Skip To fields allow you to enter a component line number that you want to begin the display of information.

In the Sales Order Processing System, when a kit component is defined in the Bill of Materials Master (F3002) as a second level or higher 
item, it will be grouped and stored in the Sales Order Detail File (F4211) under a related kit component. This relationship is maintained so that 
the system can perform kit balancing on the kit throughout the order processing cycle. For example, if a kit has the following structure in the 
Bill of Materials:        Level 0 - A         Level 1 - B, C, D        Level 2 - B1, B2, D1, D2, D3                 Level 3 - B11, B12   Components B1, B2, B11, and 
B12 will be grouped under Related Item B.

The total number of the current component needed per unit of the parent kit.

The quantity requested in the primary unit of measure.

A user defined code (00/UM) that indicates the quantity in which to express an inventory item, for example, CS (case) or BX (box).

The subsequence number of the FROM Location Detail record (F4602) in the warehouse transaction.  The location detail sequence 
number is used to make a distinction between the diffferent pallets, cases etc. from the same item in the same location.

The storage location from which goods will be moved.

The lot number of the goods being putaway, picked or replenished.

A number that uniquely identifies goods in a specific location. Each location detail record contains a storage unit number if you turn on 
license plate tracking (P46011) for that item's level one unit of measure in the Item Unit of Measure.

The subsequence number of the TO Location Detail record (F4602) in the warehouse transaction.  The location detail sequence number is 
used to make a distinction between the diffferent pallets, cases etc. from the same item in the same location.

The storage location to which goods will be moved.

The lot number to which you are adding goods. In most cases, this will be the same as the From Lot number.

The storage unit to which goods will be added.

A number that indicates the minimum potency or percentage of active ingredients acceptable for an item. The system displays a warning 
message if you try to purchase or issue items that do not meet the minimum acceptable potency. The system does not allow you to sell items 
that do not meet the minimum acceptable potency.

A number that indicates the maximum potency or percentage of active ingredients that is acceptable for an item. The system displays a 
warning message if you try to purchase or issue items that have a potency that exceeds the maximum potency acceptable. The system does 
not allow you to sell items that have a potency that exceeds the maximum potency acceptable.

A user defined code (40/LG) that indicates the minimum grade that is acceptable for an item. The system displays a warning message if 
you try to purchase or issue items with grades that do not meet the minimum grade acceptable. The system does not allow you to sell items 
with grades that do not meet the minimum acceptable level.

A user defined code (40/LG) that indicates the maximum grade that is acceptable for an item. The system displays a warning message if 
you try to purchase or issue items with grades that exceed the maximum grade acceptable. The system does not allow you to sell items with 
grades that exceed the maximum grade acceptable.

The number of days allowed before expiration for an item where it still can be used or sold to a specific customer.  When negative, this 
number indicates the number of days after expiration for an item where it still can be used or sold to a specific customer. For example, if the 
expiration date for item 1001 is 06/01/98:     o A value of 15 in Days Before Expiration means that this specific customer only accepts this item up to 
05/15/98.     o A value of -15 in Days Before Expiration means that this specific customer accepts this item up to 06/15/98.

A code that controls how the system processes lines on a transaction. It controls the systems with which the transaction interfaces, such as 
General Ledger, Job Cost, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory Management. It also specifies the conditions under 
which a line prints on reports, and it is included in calculations. Codes include the following: S Stock item   J Job cost   N Nonstock item   F Freight

A code that tells the system to handle this customer's orders on a priority basis. Use this value to set up print pick slips so you can choose 
to print them on a priority basis. This code is assigned from the Customer Billing Instructions. In addition, the backorder print report and 
automatic batch release program can be sequenced by this code to release those orders with the highest priority first.

The route field is a user defined code (system 42, type RT) that represents the delivery route on which the customer resides. This field is 
one of several factors used by the freight summary facility to calculate potential freight charges for an order. For picking, use the route code with 
the stop and zone codes to group all of the items that are to be loaded onto a delivery vehicle for a specific route. You set up a default for 
each of these fields on the Customer Billing Instruction form.

The stop code is a user defined code (system 42, type SP) that represents the stop on a delivery route. This field is one of several factors 
used by the freight summary facility to calculate potential freight charges for an order. For picking, you can use the stop code with the route and 
zone codes to group all items that are to be loaded onto a delivery vehicle for a specific route. You set up the default for each of these fields 
on the Customer Billing Instructions form.

The zone field is a user defined code (system 40, type ZN) that represents the delivery area in which the customer resides. This field is one 
of several factors used by freight summary facility to calculate potential freight charges for an order. For picking you can use the zone code 
with the route and stop codes to group all item that are to be loaded onto a delivery vehicle for a specific route. You set up the default for each 
of these fields on the Customer Billing Instructions form.

The address number for the preferred carrier of the item. The customer or your organization might prefer a certain carrier due to route or 
special handling requirements.

An option that specifies whether to allow backorders for this item. You can allow backorders by item using the Item Master (P4101) or Item 
Branch/Plant (P41026) programs, by customer using the Customer Billing Instructions program (P03013), or by branch/plant using the 
Branch/Plant Constants program (P41001).  Valid values are: On Allow backorders for this item. Off Do not allow backorders for this item, regardless of 
the backorders code that is assigned to the customer.

An option that indicates whether the customer accepts partial line shipments. Valid values are: On The customer accepts partial line 
shipments. No The customer does not accept partial shipments; the entire line must be shipped at one time.

A value that indicates whether you specified from which Location and Lot a particular item was to come. If you specified a storage area, the 
program assigns a Hard (H) commit, and subsequent programs will not determine which Location and Lot to use to satisfy the order line. If 
you did not specify a storage area, the program assigns a Soft (S) commit and attempts to determine which Location and Lot records can best 
satisfy the order line quantity. Valid codes are:    S Soft Committed,    H Hard Committed    C Hard Committed by Commitment Program    K Kit 
Master Line (No Commitment)    N Work Order (No Commitment)

A user defined code that you assign to each print message. Examples of text used in messages are engineering specifications, hours of 
operation during holiday periods, and special delivery instructions.

The merge order flags allows customer to prevent their orders from being merged by the warehousing system and from being shipped

A code (system 46/type PK) that identifies the packing materials to use (such as opaque shrink wrap, or foam nuggets) if repacking is 
required before putaway. If you set the Repack (Y/N) field to Y, you must enter a code in this field. You define the packing codes on User Defined 
Code Revisions.

A code that determines whether the specified item in this unit of measure should be repacked before putaway. Valid codes are:    Y Yes, 
repack the item    N No, do not repack the item  You must also specify a packing method by entering a code in the Default Pack Code field.

The date you received this purchase order line.

The date that an order was entered into the system. This date determines which effective level the system uses for inventory pricing.

The date that an item is scheduled to arrive or that an action is scheduled for completion.

The promised shipment date for either a sales order or purchase order. The Supply and Demand Programs use this date to calculate 
Available to Promise information. This value can be automatically calculated during sales order entry. This date represents the day that the item 
can be shipped from the warehouse.

The 10 character code used to contain the 9 character hyphenated U.S. Postal code or any postal code used outside the United States.

If this field is set to Y, the putaway, picking or replenishment suggestion will be automatically confirmed by the system.

This field is reserved for future use.

Enter a Y to specify to the system that the received location should be used for directed putaway.  If this field is blank, the system will use 
the putaway instructions to determine the putaway location.

An option that determines whether the system ensures that a lot be shipped in ascending order in relation to other lots that have already 
been shipped. When you choose this option, the system enforces the ship ascending lot rule based on the expiration date to ensure that the lot 
being shipped has an expiration date that is greater than that of the lots that have been previously shipped.

An option that indicates whether the system ensures that a lot being shipped to a customer is shipped in ascending order by the sell by 
date. If you choose this option, the system ensures that each lot that is being shipped has a sell by date that is greater than or equal to the date 
on which the last lot was shipped.

An option that specifies whether the system ensures that the lot that you are shipping to a customer has a value in the Best Before Date field 
that is greater than or equal to the value for the last lot that you shipped.
