The document type that is assigned by the transmitter in an EDI transaction. In a non EDI environment, this would be consistent with the order 
type (DCTO) assigned at order entry time, an invoice document type, a voucher document type, and so on.

This is the line number you assign when originating an EDI transaction. This number can represent an order line number (applicable for any 
order type), an invoice pay item, a journal entry line number, and so on.

The qualifier used to identify a specific type of EDI transaction.

The qualifier used to identify a specific mapping structure used to process both inbound and outbound EDI transactions.  This does not 
apply to non-EDI transactions.

The specific date that an EDI transaction was either transmitted or received.

Indicator used to identify if a specific transaction set can be sent, received or both.  Valid values are:    S Send    R Receive    B Both

The number of detail lines transmitted in an EDI transaction.  This is the total number of lines on a per order basis, number of lines included 
on an invoice, and so on.

An option that indicates whether a record has been successfully processed. Depending on the application, the system updates the EDSP 
field in a table with one of the following values: 1 Successfully processed Blank (or N or 0) Not processed

The number that the transmitter assigns to the batch.  During batch processing, the system assigns a new batch number to the PeopleSoft 
transactions for each control (user) batch number it finds. 

Field used in an EDI transaction to identify the party that is trading document with you.

The identification of a shipment made to a customer or from a supplier.  This information is used in the Advanced Ship Notice EDI 
transaction.  It can represent either the order number (DOCO), container i.d. (CNID), or delivery number (DELN) depending upon processing options 
specified in the Advanced Ship Notice Extraction program.

The hierarchical level number is used to identify levels of detail information using a Hierarchical Structure in an EDI transaction.

A code indicating the context of the series of segments following the current HL segment up to the next occurrence of an HL segment in an 
EDI transaction.

A number that, along with order number and order type, uniquely identifies an order document (such as a purchase order, a contract, a 
sales order, and so on). If you use the Next Numbers by Company/Fiscal Year facility, the Automatic Next Numbers program (X0010) uses the 
order company to retrieve the correct next number for that company. If two or more order documents have the same order number and order 
type, the order company lets you locate the desired document. If you use the regular Next Numbers facility, the order company is not used to 
assign a next number. In this case, you probably would not use the order company to locate the document.

A number that identifies an original document. This document can be a voucher, a sales order, an invoice, unapplied cash, a journal entry, 
and so on.

A user defined code (00/DT) that identifies the type of document. This code also indicates the origin of the transaction. J.D. Edwards has 
reserved document type codes for vouchers, invoices, receipts, and time sheets, which create automatic offset entries during the post 
program. (These entries are not self-balancing when you originally enter them.) The following document types are defined by J.D. Edwards and 
should not be changed: P Accounts Payable documents   R Accounts Receivable documents   T Payroll documents   I Inventory documents  
O Purchase Order Processing documents   J General Accounting/Joint Interest Billing documents   S Sales Order Processing documents

In the A/R and A/P systems, a code that corresponds to the pay item. In the Sales Order and Procurement systems, this code identifies 
multiple transactions for an original order. For purchase orders, the code is always 000. For sales orders with multiple partial receipts against an 
order, the first receiver used to record receipt has a suffix of 000, the next has a suffix of 001, the next 002, and so on.

A number that identifies multiple occurrences, such as line numbers on a purchase order or other document. Generally, the system assigns 
this number,but in some cases you can override it.

An alphanumeric code that identifies a separate entity within a business for which you want to track costs. For example, a business unit 
might be a warehouse location, job, project, work center, branch, or plant. You can assign a business unit to a document, entity, or person for 
purposes of responsibility reporting. For example, the system provides reports of open accounts payable and accounts receivable by 
business unit to track equipment by responsible department. Business unit security might prevent you from viewing information about business units 
for which you have no authority.

A code that identifies a specific organization, fund, or other reporting entity. The company code must already exist in the Company 
Constants table (F0010) and must identify a reporting entity that has a complete balance sheet. At this level, you can have intercompany 
transactions. Note: You can use company 00000 for default values such as dates and automatic accounting instructions. You cannot use company 00000 
for transaction entries.

A number that is used in conjunction with the values in the ODOC and ODCT fields to identify a transaction.

The original document number. This can be a voucher, an invoice, unapplied cash, a journal entry number, and so on Matching document 
numbers are also used to identify related documents in the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable systems. The document number 
(DOC) is always the original document number. The matching document number (DOCM) is the check, adjustment, or credit to be applied 
against the original document.

This code defines the order type. It is verified in user defined codes (40/OT). Reserved document types have been defined for voucher 
entry, invoice entry, receipts entry, and time sheet entry.  Because the offsetting entries for document types are created automatically during the 
post program, they will not be self-balancing on original entry. The reserved document types are:    PR Purchase Requisition Orders    PQ 
Purchase Quote    PO Purchase Order    PD Purchase Order - Direct Ship    PB Purchase Order - Blanket    SQ Sales Quote    SO Sales Order    
SD Sales Order - Direct Ship    SB Sales Order - Blanket 

A number identifying which line on the original order that the current line matches.

The key company that is associated with the document number of the related order.

A number that identifies a secondary purchase order, sales order, or work order that is associated with the original order. This number is for 
informational purposes only.

A user defined code (system 00, type DT) that indicates the document type of the secondary or related order. For example, a purchase 
order might be document type OP and might have been created to fill a related work order with document type WO.

A number of the detail line on the related order for which the current order was created. For example, on a purchase order created to fill 
open sales orders, this is the line number of the sales order on which the item you are ordering appears.

A unique number your company assigns to identify a particular agreement. You might want to assign some significance to the agreement 
number (for example,an agreement type code, location, year, and so forth). An agreement might have multiple supplements to record 
addendum or changes, for example.

The supplement number records any changes or addendum to agreements that occur over time or by item. It can also indicate individual 
agreements that are tied to a master agreement. The system allows up to 999 different supplements per base agreement number.

A number that identifies an entry in the Address Book system, such as employee, applicant, participant, customer, supplier, tenant, or 
location.

The address number of the location to which you want to ship this order. The address book provides default values for customer address, 
including street, city, state, zip code, and country.

The date that an item is scheduled to arrive or that an action is scheduled for completion.

The date that an order was entered into the system. This date determines which effective level the system uses for inventory pricing.

The promised shipment date for either a sales order or purchase order. The Supply and Demand Programs use this date to calculate 
Available to Promise information. This value can be automatically calculated during sales order entry. This date represents the day that the item 
can be shipped from the warehouse.

The date on which the shipment to the customer is confirmed as shipped. During shipment confirmation, the system updates the Sales 
Order Detail table (F4211) with this date.

The date that the order should be canceled if the goods have not been sent to the customer or the goods have not been received from the 
supplier. This is a memo-only field and does not cause the system to perform any type of automatic processing. If a line on a sales order in 
canceled in Sales Order Entry, this field will  be updated with the date the line has been canceled.                         

Future Date

A date that indicates when you purchased goods or services, or when you incurred a tax liability. 

A date that identifies the financial period to which the transaction is to be posted.  The company constants specify the date range for each 
financial period. You can have as many as 14 periods. Generally, period 14 is used for audit adjustments. The system validates this field for 
PBCO (posted before cutoff), PYEB (prior year ending balance), PACO (post after cutoff), and WACO (post way after cutoff) messages.

An alphanumeric value used as a cross-reference or secondary reference number. Typically, this is the customer number, supplier 
number, or job number.

A field available to record reference numbers, such as the supplier's bid document number, quote document, sales order, work order, or 
job number.

An inventory item number. The system provides three separate item numbers plus an extensive cross-reference capability to other item 
numbers (see data item XRT) to accommodate substitute item numbers, replacements, bar codes, customer numbers, supplier numbers, and 
so forth. The item numbers are as follows:   o Item Number (short) - An eight-digit, computer-assigned item number     o 2nd Item Number - The 
25-digit, free-form, user defined alphanumeric item number     o 3rd Item Number - Another 25-digit, free-form, user defined alphanumeric item 
number

A number that identifies the item. The system provides three separate item numbers plus an extensive cross-reference capability to 
alternative item numbers. The three types of item numbers are: Item Number (short) An 8-digit, computer-assigned item number. 2nd Item Number A 
25-digit, user defined, alphanumeric item number. 3rd Item Number  Another 25-digit, user defined, alphanumeric item number. In addition to 
these three basic item numbers, the system provides an extensive cross-reference search capability. You can define numerous 
cross-references to alternative part numbers. For example, you can define substitute item numbers, replacements, bar codes, customer numbers, or 
supplier numbers.

The system provides three separate item numbers plus an extensive cross-reference capability to alternate item numbers. These item 
numbers are as follows: 1.  Item Number (short) - An 8-digit, computer-assigned item number. 2.  2nd Item Number - The 25-digit, free-form, user 
defined alphanumeric item number. 3.  3rd Item Number - Another 25-digit, free-form, user defined alphanumeric item number.  In addition to 
these three basic item numbers, an extensive cross-reference search capability has been provided (see XRT). Numerous cross references to 
alternate part numbers can be user defined, such as substitute item numbers, replacements, bar codes, customer numbers, or supplier 
numbers.

The cross-reference item number that the system assigns to an item number. A cross-reference number allows you to use a supplier's item 
number if it is different from your own item number when you are processing an order or printing.

The storage location from which goods will be moved.

A number that identifies a lot or a serial number. A lot is a group of items with similar characteristics.

Brief information about an item; a remark or an explanation.

A second, 30-character description, remark, or explanation.

A code that controls how the system processes lines on a transaction. It controls the systems with which the transaction interfaces, such as 
General Ledger, Job Cost, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory Management. It also specifies the conditions under 
which a line prints on reports, and it is included in calculations. Codes include the following: S Stock item   J Job cost   N Nonstock item   F Freight  
T Text information   M Miscellaneous charges and credits   W Work order

If an individual item of inventory is sold as a component of a kit or assembly (single level bill-of-materials), the item number of that kit is the 
'related'item number.

A user defined code (00/UM) that indicates the quantity in which to express an inventory item, for example, CS (case) or BX (box).

The quantity of units affected by this transaction.

The number of units that are on hold.

The original quantity for the order detail line, plus or minus any changes to that quantity, minus all quantities shipped, received, and 
vouchered to date.

The original quantity of the order line, plus or minus any changes to that quantity, less all quantities shipped, received and/or vouchered to 
date. This number can also be the actual quantity received.

The unit cost of one item, as purchased from the supplier, excluding freight,taxes, discounts, and other factors that might modify the actual 
unit cost you record when you receive the item.

The value of the units on hold.

The amount of the order, invoice, or voucher that is still unpaid or open. When you enter a document (for example, an order, invoice, or 
voucher), the open amount is the original amount of that document. If you change the original amount, the open amount is reduced by the net 
change. For example,payments, shipments, or receipts against a document result in a reduction of the open balance.

The value of the goods received to date against the original order line.

In the event the organization recognizes a unit cost that should be used other than current unit cost, this special purpose unit cost may be 
used.

For accounts receivable and accounts payable, the invoice (gross) amount. For sales orders and purchase orders, the unit cost times the 
number of units.

A code that specifies whether the change order is a terms only change. For those organizations that elect to view subcontracts on a 
detailed line item basis, terms only changes are in most cases those that have a non-dollar effect, such as a schedule change. For those 
organizations that elect to view their contracts on a summary job cost coding basis, all changes are automatically classified for processing purposes 
as terms only changes. In this case the base contract is automatically incremented for each change order and the individual change order 
amount is carried for informational purposes only. All change orders created in processing mode 3 (account method -incremental), are terms 
only changes. Most inquiry screens and reports exclude terms only items.

A pricing category or price rule can contain a variety of levels. Within each price rule, each level is defined by its effective date range and 
allowed quantity, and whether it is based on the item's cost, price, or an amount specified as an override.

This is a grouping of suppliers and items for pricing purposes.

The factor that the system applies to the unit price of an inventory item to determine the net price. The system retrieves this value from the 
inventory pricing rules if you have assigned a rule to this item. The pricing rule setup determines if the system multiplies the unit price by this 
value or adds to or deducts from the unit price.

A code that specifies the terms of payment, including the percentage of discount available if the invoice is paid by the discount due date. 
Use a blank code to indicate the most frequently-used payment term. You define each type of payment term on the Payment Terms Revisions 
form. Examples of payment terms include: Blank Net 15 001      1/10 net 30 002      2/10 net 30 003      Due on the 10th day of every month 006     
Due upon receipt  This code prints on customer invoices.

A code that indicates whether the item is subject to sales tax when you purchase it. The system calculates tax on the item only if the supplier 
is also taxable.

A hard-coded user defined code (00/EX) that controls the algorithm that the system uses to calculate tax and G/L distribution amounts. The 
system uses the tax explanation code in conjunction with the tax rate area and tax rules to determine how the tax is calculated. Each 
transaction pay item can be defined with a different tax explanation code.

A code that identifies a tax or geographic area that has common tax rates and tax authorities. The system validates the code you enter 
against the Tax Areas table (F4008). The system uses the tax rate area in conjunction with the tax explanation code and tax rules to calculate tax 
and G/L distribution amounts when you create an invoice or voucher.

This is a one byte flag that is used to determine whether or not a specific line item on a sales or purchase order has additional extended 
text associated with it.

A code on the container or that you assign to the container in which the items on this purchase order or order line were shipped to you. You 
can assign container information to an order during receipts entry.

Defines whether the movement of goods is for sale, lease, and so on. For European Union VAT reporting, you can input the nature of 
transaction codes using one of the user defined codes on the Sales Order Detail Revisions form or the Order Detail form (for Procurement). For 
Procurement, use UDCs 41/P1 through 41/P5. For Sales, use UDC 40/S1 through 40/S5. The Intrastat Workfile Generation - Sales program 
(R0018I1) and Intrastat Workfile Generation - Purchase program (R0018I2) update the information in the Intrastat Revision table (F0018T) if you 
specify the UDC you are using (41/P1 through 41/P5 or 40/S1 through 40/S5) in the appropriate processing option on the generation program. 
You can also enter the data directly in the Intrastat Workfile Revision program (P0018T). Note: To provide F1 help for the code you choose, 
use UDC table 00/NT.

A user defined code (42/FR) designating the method by which supplier shipments are delivered. For example, the supplier could deliver to 
your dock, or you could pick up the shipment at the supplier's dock. You can also use these codes to indicate who has responsibility for 
freight charges. For example, you can have a code indicating that the customer legally takes possession of goods as soon as they leave the 
supplier warehouse and is responsible for transportation charges to the destination.

Indicator typically updated by the freight calculation facility so that freight, once calculated and added to an order, will not be added again 
by accident.    blank Record has not been processed.    1     Record has been processed, but an error was encountered.    2     Record has 
been processed successfully.

The zone field is a user defined code (system 40, type ZN) that represents the delivery area in which the customer resides. This field is one 
of several factors used by freight summary facility to calculate potential freight charges for an order. For picking you can use the zone code 
with the route and stop codes to group all item that are to be loaded onto a delivery vehicle for a specific route. You set up the default for each 
of these fields on the Customer Billing Instructions form.

The user defined code (system 41/type RT) for freight rate. This designates the amount that the customer is charged for postage, freight, or 
other miscellaneous expenses for an order.

Indicates whether this charge is to be categorized as a freight charge or some other additional charge, such as packing, assembly, or 
special handling.

The address book number that identifies who is responsible for setting up and maintaining the correct stocking levels for each inventory 
item.

The address book number of the carrier, which is specified by the customer or by your organization. You might use this carrier because of 
route requirements or special handling requirements.

A user defined code (00/TM) that describes the nature of the carrier being used to transport goods to the customer. For example, by rail, by 
road, and so on.

The conditions of transport (or terms of delivery) are taken from the Sales Order Header File table (F4201) or the Purchase Order Header 
table (F4301). The Terms of Delivery field (FRTH) in the header file is only one character. To obtain the required three-character explanation 
for EU VAT reporting, the second explanation of category code 42/FR is used. To provide descriptions when pressing F1 on the field for the 
Intrastat Workfile Reivision program (P0018T), set up a user defined code 00/TC to correspond to the three-character explanation. Sample 
codes include the following: EXW Ex works   FOB Free on board   CIF Carriage, insurance, freight   DUP Delivered duty paid   DDU Delivered duty 
unpaid   xxx Others

A user defined code (41/E) that represents an item property type or classification (for example, international shipment handling). The 
system uses this code to sort and process similar items. This field is one of three classification categories available primarily for inventory and 
shipping purposes.

A code (table 41/C) that represents an item property type or classification,such as special shipping conditions. The system uses this code 
to sort and process like items. This field is one of three classification categories available primarily for inventory and shipping purposes.

A user defined code (00/UM) that identifies the unit of measure that the system uses to express the quantity of an item, for example, EA 
(each) or KG (kilogram).

The quantity ordered by the customer expressed in the primary stocking unit of measure.

A code (table 00/UM) that identifies the unit of measure in which you usually purchase the item.

The weight of one unit of an item, expressed in the primary unit of measure.

The unit of measure that indicates the weight of an individual item. Typical weight units of measure are:    GM Gram    OZ Ounce    LB Pound    
KG Kilogram    CW Hundredweight    TN Ton 

The cubic units occupied by one inventory item. The definition of the unit itself (cubic feet, yards, meters, and so on) is defined in the volume 
unit of measure.

The unit of measure for the cubic space occupied by an inventory item. Typical volume unit of measures are:    ML Milliliter    OZ Fluid Ounce   
 PT Pint    LT Liter    CF Cubic Foot    CM Cubic Meter    CY Cubic Yard 

The calendar century associated with the year. Enter is the first two digits of the year. For example, 19 indicates any year beginning with 19 
(1998, 1999), 20 indicates any year beginning with 20 (2000, 2001), and so on.

A number that identifies the fiscal year. Generally, you can either enter a number in this field or leave it blank to indicate the current fiscal 
year (as defined on the Company Setup form). Specify the year at the end of the first period rather than the year at the end of the fiscal period. 
For example, a fiscal year begins October 1, 1998 and ends September 30, 1999. The end of the first period is October 31, 1998. Specify the 
year 98 rather than 99.

A memo code used to define additional information about an order line. Examples might be:    PY Priority Handling Requested    IR 
Inspection Required    DB Order Pending D & B Review 

A user defined code (42/RC) that explains the purpose for a transaction. For example, you can indicate the reason that you are returning 
items.

Essentially a memo field at present, this value is intended to reflect the fact that many inventory items are always packaged in the same 
way for shipment to the customer.  This packaging in turn effectively adds to the shipment weight for the item.  Since much of the mainstream 
freight calculations depend upon a weight basis for their accuracy, the ability to store a gross weight which reflects the estimated additional 
weight of standard packaging was deemed to be a worthwhile enhancement. (Future Use)

Gross weight unit of measure.

A 25-character alphanumeric number that you can use as an alternate asset identification number. You might use this number to track 
assets by the manufacturer's serial number. You are not required to use a serial number to identify an asset. Every serial number that you enter 
must be unique.

(Future Use) In anticipation of the future creation of a Physical Count facility within the inventory system which allows for the use of 
pre-numbered multi-part tags.

A number that identifies a specific floor plan within a project.  This is an important key field in the homebuilder system.  It is also used to 
match lot proceed options to bid or takeoff contracts when the Lot Proceeds Proof/Post program (P445098) is run.

Lot Proceed House Elevation. This field is used to match the Lot Proceed to a Bid or Takeoff contract when doing a Lot Proceed Post to 
create commitment contracts.

A code that indicates if an order is eligible for the evaluated receipt settlement process. An evaluated receipt settlement indicates that you 
have an agreement with the supplier to create vouchers based on the items that you receive. You use the Evaluated Receipt Settlement 
(R43800) procedure to create vouchers from receipt records. As a result, the supplier does not send you invoices and you can bypass the 
Voucher Match procedure. Valid values are:    N Not eligible for evaluated receipt settlement processing.    Y Eligible for evaluated receipt 
settlement processing.    I Receipt transaction is in process.    T Eligible for evaluated receipt settlement processing. However, a tolerance error 
occurred during the receipt process. R Eligible for evaluated receipt settlement processing. However, the receipt is currently in the receipt routing 
process.    V A voucher has been created for the receipt transaction using the evaluated receipt settlement process.

A code that identifies the currency of a transaction. 

A number (exchange rate) that a foreign currency amount is multiplied by to calculate a domestic currency amount.  The number in this field 
can have a maximum of seven decimal positions. If more are entered, the system adjusts to the nearest seven decimal positions. 

The foreign unit cost for this item, as purchased directly from the supplier,excluding freight, taxes, discounts and other factors which might 
serve to modify the actual unit cost we record at the time of physical receipt of goods.

The product of the foreign price times the number of units.

Amount - Foreign Unit Cost

The product of the cost of an item, expressed in foreign currency according to the orders exchange rate, times the number of units.

Amount - Received Foreign

This is a 2 position code that is reserved for the user.  JDE does not currently use this field and will not utilize this field in the future.

The person who originally entered the transaction.

The code that identifies a user profile.

The number that identifies the batch or interactive program (batch or interactive object). For example, the number of the Sales Order Entry 
interactive program is P4210, and the number of the Print Invoices batch process report is R42565. The program ID is a variable length value. 
It is assigned according to a structured syntax in the form TSSXXX, where: T The first character of the number is alphabetic and identifies the 
type, such as P for Program, R for Report, and so on. For example, the value P in the number P4210 indicates that the object is a 
program. SS The second and third characters of the number are numeric and identify the system code. For example, the value 42 in the number P4210 
indicates that this program belongs to system 42, which is the Sales Order Processing system. XXX The remaining characters of the numer are 
numeric and identify a unique program or report. For example, the value 10 in the number P4210 indicates that this is the Sales Order Entry 
program.

The code that identifies the work station ID that executed a particular job.

The date that specifies the last update to the file record.

The computer clock in hours:minutes:seconds.

The EDI 856 transaction set hierarchy configuration codes that specify the levels present in the Ship Notice/Manifest. This field is made up 
of a combination of 2 character Hierarchical Level Codes (values from the X12  specification for data element 735 - Hierarchical Level Code). 
There can be up to 9 combinations of HLC's in this field.

A code indicating the hierarchical application structure of an EDI transaction set that utilizes the HL segment to define the structure of the 
transaction set.

A code corresponding to one of the accepted values in the EDI X12 definition for data element 103. It is a combination of a Packaging Form 
(3 chars) and a Packaging Material (2 digits).

A code identifying the type of weight. The value should conform to one of the accepted values for EDI X12 data element 187.

The shipment weight is qualified by a Weight Qualifier (WGQ) that identifies the type of weight.

The weight unit of measure.

A code that describes the system/method of code structure used for the Identifier Code. Must conform to one of the accepted values for the 
EDI X12  data element 66.

A code that (when qualified by the Identification Code Qualifier code) helps to identify a shipment.

A code that describes the system/method of code structure used for the Identifier Code. Must conform to one of the accepted values for the 
EDI X12  data element 66.

A code that (when qualified by the Identification Code Qualifier code) helps to identify a shipment.

A description of the routing used for the shipment.

A code identifying the type of equipment used for a shipment.

The prefix or alphabetic part of an equipment unit's identifying number.

The sequencing or serial part of an equipment unit's identifying number (a pure numeric form for equipment number is preferred but not 
required).

A code that qualifies the Reference Number. It must conform to one of the accepted values for EDI X12 data element 128.

A Reference number or identification number as defined for a particular EDI transaction set or as specified by the Reference Number 
Qualifier.

A code that qualifies the Reference Number. It must conform to one of the accepted values for EDI X12 data element 128.

A Reference number or identification number as defined for a particular EDI transaction set or as specified by the Reference Number 
Qualifier.

The tare level Serialized Shipping Container Code. Must conform to the UCC structure for SSCC numbers.

The pack level Serialized Shipping Container Code. Must conform to the UCC structure for SSCC numbers.

The Shipping Container Code. Must conform to the UCC structure for SCC numbers.

The quantity of SCC packages for a given item.

The unit of measure that represents the pack type for an SCC quantity.

The Universal Product Code number which must conform to the UCC structure for UPC numbers.

The quantity at the UPC level - the lowest consumer-saleable package.

The unit of measure at the UPC level - the lowest consumer-saleable package.

An internal counter used by order processing programs to determine the order in which the lines of a print message appear.

The address number of the person who receives the goods ordered. The delivered to address might differ from the ship to address when 
ordered goods are processed through a distribution center (which is the delivered to address) before reaching their final destination (the ship 
to address).

The address number of the location of the final destination of the order. This address is used in the retail industry in addition to the Ship To 
address. Both Ship To and Mark-for address will be clearly marked in the UCC128 label. The UCC128 label is used to consolidate orders in 
the Distribution Center. Consolidated orders are then delivered to their respective Mark-for address.

An alphanumeric value used as a cross-reference or secondary reference number. Typically, this is the serial number or supplier number.

The revision level for an item. If you enter a revision level in this field, verify that the revision level of the routing for an item matches the 
revision level on the bill of material for the item.

A "next number" that uniquely identifies a shipment.

The actual time of shipment. Enter the time using the 24-hour time format (HHMMSS). For example, enter 6:00 a.m. as 060000, and enter 7:00 
p.m. as 190000.

The time that an order was originally promised to be delivered. Enter the time using the 24-hour time format (HHMMSS) and include a 
leading zero if necessary. For example, to enter 6:00 a.m., type 060000. To enter 7:00 p.m., type 190000.

The time when the order is scheduled to be picked. Enter the time in the 24-hour format and include a leading zero if necessary. For 
example, enter 6:00 a.m. by typing 060000 and enter 7:00 p.m. by typing 190000.

The scheduled time of a shipment. Enter the time using the 24-hour time format (HHMMSS). For example, enter 6:00 a.m. as 060000, and 
enter 7:00 p.m. as 190000.

Future use.

A free-form field in which you can enter any pertinent information.

A higher classification or grouping of serial number or lot processed items,maintained within the Lot Master (F4108).

A higher classification or grouping of memo lot 1 maintained within the lot master (F4108).

The supplier's lot number for the item.

A user defined code (41/L) that indicates the status of the lot. If you leave this field blank, it indicates that the lot is approved. All other codes 
indicate that the lot is on hold. You can assign a different status code to each location in which a lot resides on Item/Location Information or 
Location Lot Status Change.

The date on which a lot of items expires. The system automatically enters this date if you have specified the shelf life days for the item on 
Item Master Information or Item Branch/Plant Information. The system calculates the expiration date by adding the number of shelf life days to 
the date that you receive the item. You can commit inventory based on the lot expiration date for items. You choose how the system commits 
inventory for an item on Item Master Information or Item Branch/Plant Information.

A brief description of a specific lot.

The amount that specifies the quantity that is received. This value overrides the transaction quantity value that is received in the inbound 
ASN. The system requires an Override UM value when you enter an amount in this field.

A user defined code (00/UM) that indicates the quantity in which an inventory item is expressed, such as CS (case) or BX (box).

A unique number that identifies a specific outbound shipping container.  The container serial number is normally created from a 
standardized format.

The job number (work station ID) which executed the particular job.

A number that identifies an original document. This document can be a voucher, a sales order, an invoice, unapplied cash, a journal entry, 
and so on.

A user defined code (00/DT) that identifies the type of document. This code also indicates the origin of the transaction. J.D. Edwards has 
reserved document type codes for vouchers, invoices, receipts, and time sheets, which create automatic offset entries during the post 
program. (These entries are not self-balancing when you originally enter them.) The following document types are defined by J.D. Edwards and 
should not be changed: P Accounts Payable documents   R Accounts Receivable documents   T Payroll documents   I Inventory documents  
O Purchase Order Processing documents   J General Accounting/Joint Interest Billing documents   S Sales Order Processing documents

A number that, along with order number and order type, uniquely identifies an order document (such as a purchase order, a contract, a 
sales order, and so on). If you use the Next Numbers by Company/Fiscal Year facility, the Automatic Next Numbers program (X0010) uses the 
order company to retrieve the correct next number for that company. If two or more order documents have the same order number and order 
type, the order company lets you locate the desired document. If you use the regular Next Numbers facility, the order company is not used to 
assign a next number. In this case, you probably would not use the order company to locate the document.

In the A/R and A/P systems, a code that corresponds to the pay item. In the Sales Order and Procurement systems, this code identifies 
multiple transactions for an original order. For purchase orders, the code is always 000. For sales orders with multiple partial receipts against an 
order, the first receiver used to record receipt has a suffix of 000, the next has a suffix of 001, the next 002, and so on.

A number that identifies multiple occurrences, such as line numbers on a purchase order or other document. Generally, the system assigns 
this number,but in some cases you can override it.

A number representing the number of lines on either a purchase or sales order. or The number of receivers recorded during the receipts 
process.  This field will be used in Voucher Matching.

The date on which a lot becomes available. The system uses this date for availability and commitment processing to indicate that the lot is 
available on or after the date that you specify. You must complete this field when inventory first becomes an on-hand quantity for the lot. If you 
leave this field blank, the system calculates the effective date of the lot by using the value for Effective Days in the Item Branch File table 
(F4102) or the current date if the value for Effective Days is zero.

The date when a lot is considered to be on hand in a branch/plant. The system determines the on-hand date by using the transaction date 
upon which the first inventory for a particular lot is determined to be on hand. The system automatically assigns this date to the Lot Master 
table (F4108).

The date that the system uses in conjunction with the shelf life days to calculate the lot expiration date. You can enter this date during 
inventory completions. In addition to calculating the lot expiration date, the system uses the date that you enter in this field to calculate the following 
lot dates:   o Sell By Date   o Best Before Date   o Lot Effectivity Date   o User Lot Date 1   o User Lot Date 2   o User Lot Date 3   o User Lot Date 
4   o User Lot Date 5

The date by which a lot should be completely sold. The system uses this date as a "through" date for commitment processing. The system 
calculates the sell by date using the value in the Sell By Days field, which is contained in the Item Branch File table (F4102), when inventory 
becomes available on-hand.

The last date on which the products in a lot should be consumed. The system calculates the date by retrieving the value from the Best 
Before Days field in the Item Master program (P4101). You can also use this date as a "through" date for commitment processing. You can 
commit a lot by this date by using the Commitment Date Method field in the Item Branch program (P41026).

A date that the system can use as a through date for commitment processing. The system stores this date in the Lot Master table (F4108). If 
you leave this field blank, the system can calculate the date by using the value for the User Lot Date 1 Default Days field, which is stored in 
the Item Branch File table (F4102).

A user-defined date that can be used for commitment purposes and is stored in the Lot Master table (F4108). Similar to the Lot Expiration 
Date, User Lot Date 2 is a through date for commitment processing. The User Lot Date 2 commitment option is available in the Commitment

An option that specifies whether the system activates the materials issue function when performing the receipts into stock function.  You use 
this option only for the Procurement system and when you are using Engineering Project Management.

A user defined code (system 00, type DT) that indicates the document type of the secondary or related order. For example, a purchase 
order might be document type OP and might have been created to fill a related work order with document type WO.

A number that identifies a lot or a serial number. A lot is a group of items with similar characteristics.

The storage location from which goods will be moved.

An alphanumeric code that identifies a separate entity within a business for which you want to track costs. For example, a business unit 
might be a warehouse location, job, project, work center, branch, or plant. You can assign a business unit to a document, entity, or person for 
purposes of responsibility reporting. For example, the system provides reports of open accounts payable and accounts receivable by 
business unit to track equipment by responsible department. Business unit security might prevent you from viewing information about business units 
for which you have no authority.

An inventory item number. The system provides three separate item numbers plus an extensive cross-reference capability to other item 
numbers (see data item XRT) to accommodate substitute item numbers, replacements, bar codes, customer numbers, supplier numbers, and 
so forth. The item numbers are as follows:   o Item Number (short) - An eight-digit, computer-assigned item number     o 2nd Item Number - The 
25-digit, free-form, user defined alphanumeric item number     o 3rd Item Number - Another 25-digit, free-form, user defined alphanumeric item 
number

A value that identifies an account in the general ledger. Use one of the following formats to enter account numbers:   o  Standard account 
number (business unit.object.subsidiary or flex format).   o  Third G/L number (maximum of 25 digits).   o  Account ID number. The number is eight 
digits long.       o  Speed code, which is a two-character code that you concatenate to the AAI item SP. You can then enter the code instead of 
an account number. The first character of the account number indicates its format. You define the account format in the General Accounting 
constants. 

The business unit from an account number.  The account number business unit is usually found in the data item MCU, however, Distribution 
systems use the field MCU as the branch.

The portion of a general ledger account that refers to the division of the Cost Code (for example, labor, materials, and equipment) into

A code that identifies a detailed, auxiliary account within a general ledger account. A subledger can be an equipment item number or an 
address book number. If you enter a subledger, you must also specify the subledger type.

A user defined code (00/ST) that is used with the Subledger field to identify the subledger type and how the system performs subledger 
editing. On the User Defined Codes form, the second line of the description controls how the system performs editing. This is either hard-coded 
or user defined. Valid values include: A Alphanumeric field, do not edit   N Numeric field, right justify and zero fill   C Alphanumeric field, right 
justify and blank fill  

A date that identifies the financial period to which the transaction is to be posted.  The company constants specify the date range for each 
financial period. You can have as many as 14 periods. Generally, period 14 is used for audit adjustments. The system validates this field for 
PBCO (posted before cutoff), PYEB (prior year ending balance), PACO (post after cutoff), and WACO (post way after cutoff) messages.

A number indicating the current accounting period.  This number, used in conjunction with the Company Constants table (F0010) and the 
General Constants table (F0009), allows the user to define up to 14 accounting periods. See General Ledger Date.  The current period number 
is used to determine posted before and posted after cut off warning messages.  It is also used as the default accounting period in the 
preparation of financial reports.

A number that identifies the fiscal year. Generally, you can either enter a number in this field or leave it blank to indicate the current fiscal 
year (as defined on the Company Setup form). Specify the year at the end of the first period rather than the year at the end of the fiscal period. 
For example, a fiscal year begins October 1, 1998 and ends September 30, 1999. The end of the first period is October 31, 1998. Specify the 
year 98 rather than 99.

The calendar century associated with the year. Enter is the first two digits of the year. For example, 19 indicates any year beginning with 19 
(1998, 1999), 20 indicates any year beginning with 20 (2000, 2001), and so on.

Category code 1 associated with the Account Master table (F0901). This is a user defined code (09/01) for use in flex account mapping and 
in printing selected information on reports.

A code that identifies a specific organization, fund, or other reporting entity. The company code must already exist in the Company 
Constants table (F0010) and must identify a reporting entity that has a complete balance sheet. At this level, you can have intercompany 
transactions. Note: You can use company 00000 for default values such as dates and automatic accounting instructions. You cannot use company 00000 
for transaction entries.

Multiple Account Split Type. Valid values are: 1: Split by Percentage (default) 2: Split by Fixed Amount 3: Split by Fixed Quantity

The multiple account percentage that the system uses for creating the G/L distribution.

The amount that the system uses when creating the G/L distribution.

The multiple-account split quantity that the system uses for creating the G/L distribution.

The foreign amount that the system uses when creating the G/L distribution.

A number that identifies the original document, such as a voucher, invoice, or journal entry. On entry forms, you can assign the document 
number or let the system assign it using the Next Numbers program (P0002). Matching document numbers (DOCM) identify related documents 
in the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable systems. Examples of original and matching documents are: Accounts Payable     o 
Original document - voucher     o Matching document - payment  Accounts Receivable     o Original document - invoice     o Matching document - 
receipt  Note: In the Accounts Receivable system, the following transactions simultaneously generate original and matching documents: 
deductions, unapplied receipts, chargebacks, and drafts.

A number that, with the document number, document type and G/L date, uniquely identifies an original document, such as invoice, voucher, 
or journal entry. If you use the Next Numbers by Company/Fiscal Year feature, the Automatic Next Numbers program (X0010) uses the 
document company to retrieve the correct next number for that company. If two or more original documents have the same document number and 
document type, you can use the document company to locate the desired document.

A number that identifies the pay item for a voucher or an invoice. The system assigns the pay item number. If the voucher or invoice has 
multiple pay items, the numbers are sequential.

A number that designates a line within a journal entry. The system uses this field to sequence the journal entry lines for inquiry purposes.

This is the received not vouchered account number associated with the PO Receiver table (F43121).

The quantity of units affected by this transaction.

The number of units that are on hold.

The units paid to date on an invoice or voucher.

The code that identifies a user profile.

The number that identifies the batch or interactive program (batch or interactive object). For example, the number of the Sales Order Entry 
interactive program is P4210, and the number of the Print Invoices batch process report is R42565. The program ID is a variable length value. 
It is assigned according to a structured syntax in the form TSSXXX, where: T The first character of the number is alphabetic and identifies the 
type, such as P for Program, R for Report, and so on. For example, the value P in the number P4210 indicates that the object is a 
program. SS The second and third characters of the number are numeric and identify the system code. For example, the value 42 in the number P4210 
indicates that this program belongs to system 42, which is the Sales Order Processing system. XXX The remaining characters of the numer are 
numeric and identify a unique program or report. For example, the value 10 in the number P4210 indicates that this is the Sales Order Entry 
program.
